Cheryl Carter has been in the mortgage industry for over the past 35 years and with Waterside mortgage for the last 13 years as a Loan Origination Mortgage Specialist. She holds her mortgage license in both Georgia and Florida. Originally from Brunswick, Cheryl has spent a majority of her career in the Atlanta Real Estate Market, although her clients span from North Georgia down the coast to Florida. She moved south to Saint Mary’s Georgia in 2019,  still serving her clients in both Georgia and Florida. With more than 35 years of mortgage experience in the Georgia/Florida market, her knowledge makes her an asset to both her clients and Waterside Mortgage. Waterside Mortgage a ‘Boutique” Lender, which allows her to offer personalized service of which she takes pride in managing her clients mortgage transactions from origination to closing. Her experience with realtors, depth of product knowledge, combined with superior critical thinking skills, gives her a professional advantage in the marketplace. The property types she provides financing for are Residential, Commercial, Multi Family, Condominiums (both Warrantable and Non-Warrantable). Her mortgage product expertise allows her to originate an assortment of loans from Jumbo, Conforming, Investor, Construction, Swing/Bridge, FHA, VA, USDA, 2nd Mortgages, Renovation/Rehab, Debt to Service Ratio & Portfolio (Bank Statements for self-employed. She was previously a preferred Lender on condominium projects in the Atlanta market, with the most recent being condominium units at the Sovereign, located on Peachtree Road in Atlanta. 

Cheryl loves to give back by serving her community and volunteering her time and energy, she has been a part of Atlanta Area Charities and Civic Organizations. She served on “The Steering Committee for the MS Society’s March/2009 event, Music, Mummies and Martini’s for MS” held in conjunction with the King Tut Exhibit. She is a graduate of the MS Society’s 2009 Leadership Class. She has served on the Board of the Buckhead Business Association as a Director, Cloister Condominium Board, Peachtree Road United Methodist Church Administrative Board and Flower Guild, Development Committee with Trinity Ministries and The Atlanta Police Foundation’s Blue Jean Ball to benefit Crime Stoppers. She also served as the Past 2021 President of Pace Cetters, a women’s organization established in 1969 with sponsorship from famed architect, John Portman. Since her return to St Marys, she has become a member of Saint Marys Methodist Church and is honored to serve on the Saint Mary’s Downtown Development Authority Board.
